2011 Festival Quilt
31/08/11 16:31 Filed in: Festival of Sharing | Quilt

This quilt was hand made by the women incarcerated at the Chillicothe Women’s Correctional Center. These women have been recipients of the Women’s prison packs and are now giving back to others. Sewing projects such as these are an integral part of a “restorative justice” which enables the women and the community to cooperate together to discover ways of “healing the harm” and gives these women a chance to demonstrate to the community their desire to “give back” and make “amends” for the harm they inflicted. It will be one of the many quilts auctioned at the Festival of Sharing on October 15th at the MO State Fairgrounds. Proceeds from the Quilt Auction go to Church World Service Blankets+ programs.
